Prototype (post-exam)
29 November 2021- 12 December 2021
We had a meeting with Mr Roderick and Prof Adrian on our progress. They also gave us meaningful advice on how to continue on for our project which our team discussed together after our meeting with them. The questions posed by them were primarily: 1) Who are we marketing to (first time buyers or experienced buyers), 2) what's our fair price (as we currently set it at $29, but would that be a fair price?). For 1), we decided on first time buyers. For 2), we decided to experiment with the pricing depending on how we progress. So, we will start with this and continue on with a discount strategy, or maybe lower the price if it's hard to sell.
Apart from that, I've been trying to post more and have been coming up with ideas on what kind of content to post to try and make our social media more engaging. Also, Stevenson and I have been meeting up to discuss on the few next steps we should take for our marketing.

Met up with the tech team to discuss more on the website and marketing aspect (how to integrate those together). So far, we've created the Facebook account for Felix Natura and will be setting up the business account soon.

I've created the business account for Felix Natura but faced with a lot of issues (e.g., account disabled/not allowed to create business page as Facebook said they are limiting content etc). Apart from that, I'll be helping out on the website (e.g., About Us page).
Thankfully, the About Us page went fine and our website is now launched!

I delivered the Terrariums for our micro-influencers alongside with Jyn.
My sister is a graphic designer and produces various tags / stickers / cards.
So, I used her materials to help make our packaging more aesthetically pleasing and personalised.
Here's Jyn and I decorating the boxes in his car for our micro-influencers.
Happy us as we finished decorating and are ready to deliver! :-)
Overall, I'm glad to get a chance to dabble between the different departments and get a feel of how everything is like apart from the marketing side. I realised that the operations aspect in a business can be quite challenging as since we are a small startup, we've got to make sure that our deliveries are in an acceptable condition and also plan the routes strategically so that everything is more efficient. We made sure that our products are safely packed, with each and every item secure into their respective bags so that nothing is damaged or lost during delivery.
On my own accord, I've tried to source for partnerships for our Terrarium to help to market ourselves better and drive more sales. Currently I've been in touch with dateideas, who have a reach of about 50k users on telegram. I'll be discussing on a partnership with them with my team during our meeting tomorrow.
Apart from that, I'll be meeting up with Stevenson to discuss about 1) Ads Timeline for the next 2 months, and 2) monitoring of the product trial (from micro-influencers), 3) social media ads on promotion of free delivery for the 1st 50 sets of terrariums. I'll also prepare another date after 20/12 for my photographer friend to help our team take more pictures of our terrariums once they arrive.
